So, position player Josh Wilson pitched for two different teams this season. How unusual is it for a position player to pitch for two teams in one year?
ReplyDeleteIt has become pretty rare for position players to pitch for two different teams over the course of a career, so it can't happen often in the same season.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, the last one I can find is Willie Smith in 1968. He debuted as a pitcher in 1963 and was converted to a left fielder over the next two seasons.
